OUR SCHOOL, OUR VISION

The North Wales School of Dancing was established over 60 years ago, and by 1956 was already producing its annual Gala showcases in local Theatres in Rhyl and the area, the School's 'spiritual' home.

The North Wales School Of Dancing is currently one of the largest dance schools in North Wales with over 400 pupils, and has built a reputation of very high standards and prides itself on discipline within a friendly, creative learning environment.

The School teaches at centres across North Wales, including Rhyl, Prestatyn, Dyserth, Ruthin and Bala and takes children from the age of 3 right through to Adult classes, with many parents being themselves former pupils of the School.

The School also teaches the pre-school Melody Bear movement syllabus for young children agers 18 months onwards

North Wales School of Dancing offers classes that work towards Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) exams.

Examination results are exceptional with a 100% pass rate, and over the past five years students have successfully achieved places at prestigious colleges across the UK including Laines Theatre Arts (London), Urdang Academy (London), Mountview Performing Arts (London), Millennium School of Performing Arts (London), Birds College of Performing Arts (London), Andrew Lloyd Webber's Arts Ed (London) MDDC Dance Academy (Liverpool), The Hammond Theatre School (Chester) and SLP College (Leeds). This is an amazing success rate for a 'provincial' Dance School, and highlights the very high level of training and skill all students receive at the North Wales School of Dancing.

North Wales School of Dancing compete regularly accross the UK, and are currently Senior National UK Modern Champions 2016-2017.

These are both  high standard faculties regularly monitored and audited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), to ensure that their standards are maintained. This stamp of approval reassures parents that the ISTD and RAD qualifications are comparable to those children study within the National Qualifications framework at school, and are recognised by the dance and performance industry for those wishing to pursue a career in dance and the performing arts.

North Wales School of Dancing is run by Principal tutor Lisa Messham, and supported by fully trained dance teachers including Dawn Hughes-Conroy, Alex Wilson, Emily Richards and Ami Dickinson, and complimented by a number of Senior dance pupils undertaking their further training and College work experience.

The School provides opportunities for former pupils who have trained in Dance tuition to gain experience at the School by assisting with classes.

The School's main base is at the Operatics, Vale Road, Rhyl.

The School raises funds for the Alder Hey Children's hospital
